Okay, I said I have a picture...
Here is a shot of the first one knit. The finishing work sounds a little tedious, but maybe tonight after the kiddos are in bed I can tackle 'em! Still pondering my message.....

I waited until I had both done, then just sat down in front of a movie after the kids were in bed one night to do all the finishing at once. Nice job on Knuck #1!
I always do the finishing work about an inch after the join. Then it's all done, and I sail through to finished.
I knitted the gloves first and then I did the embroidery and then I did all the finishing work^_^
